Anastasia Maxwell Library
The Anastasia Maxwell Library is open to UUC members and friends on
weekdays and on Sundays after services. It is located in the Social Hall. We
use an honor system checkout and return system. Please sign the sheet on the
computer desk when you take out a book. We have a marvelous collection of over 6,000 books, with over 1,100 books in
Fiction and Literature, over 800 Biographies, 620 books in American and World
History, and over 400 books in African-American Studies. Other categories
include Coffee Table Books Fine Arts, Civil Rights and Social Justice,
Education, Ethnic Studies (Culture), Florida, GLBT, Government, Politics and
Law, International Relations and War, Jewish History and Culture, Nature and
Science, Philosophy, Reference, Social Science, Theology and Religion
(including Unitarian-Universalism), Travel, Women’s Studies, and Writing and
Communications. The collection is a combination of our previous UUC library and the generous
donation of his library by Bill Maxwell, a member of UUC and a St. Petersburg
Times columnist and college teacher. The library is named in honor of his
daughter, Anastasia. The vast majority of our library collection is from Bill’s
library. There is also a computer and printer in the library for any member to use. It has
internet access and Microsoft Word and other software.
